Shearing
Wool is carefully sheared to preserve clean, long fibres.
AlSadu Society · Kuwait
Leading the way in sustainable wool processing for local and regional textile innovation.

Wool has deep environmental, historical, and cultural roots in Kuwait and the Arabian Peninsula. For centuries, it was an essential part of daily life, with communities making use of the region's abundant sheep wool.
Soof is the first sustainable wool mill in Kuwait. It seeks to revive traditional crafts while advancing environmental sustainability in the textile sector. As part of AlSadu Society's mission to preserve cultural heritage and promote sustainable local industries, the mill uses modern, eco-friendly technologies to transform raw wool into premium yarns.
This pioneering factory is the result of a strategic partnership between AlSadu Society and AlMawashi Company, made possible by a grant from the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) and relying on research by the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR). Together, they aim to develop Kuwait's wool industry.
Weaving sustainable cultural narratives.

Soof Factory is the first wool processing center in Kuwait, committed to preserving cultural heritage while embracing sustainable technologies.

Through collaboration with Al-Mawashi Slaughterhouse, we provide high-quality wool yarn for spinners, weavers, and textile designers.
