Wool has deep environmental, historical, and cultural roots in Kuwait and the Arabian Peninsula. For centuries, it was an essential part of daily life. Soof exists to bring that material story forward — combining traditional knowledge with modern, low-impact processing.
Soof is part of AlSadu Weaving Cooperative Society's mission to preserve cultural heritage and promote sustainable local industries. The mill transforms raw wool into premium yarns destined for artisans, weavers, and textile designers across the region.
This pioneering factory is the result of a partnership between AlSadu Society and AlMawashi Company, made possible by a grant from the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) and supported by research from the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR).
